Volunteers play a vital role in our shelter's success! There are many
different ways that you can help, including volunteering at the SPCA,
at home, or at off-site events.
Congratulations to Alec Newnes
Our Volunteers of the Month!
I am Alec Newnes I was born and raised in England, I came to Virginia in the 80's, I have 2 cats of my own, Thomas and Spike. and enjoy making the sick animals well.
Download and return the volunteer application to Ellen Leckar. All new volunteers will be required to register for orientation, please view orientation dates. From there,
Ellen will get to know you and help you to match your interests and abilities
to one of our volunteer teams.

All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to work at the SPCA.
Volunteers are asked to pay a $25 non-refundable fee (cash, Visa, MasterCard) to help us offset the cost of volunteer
shirts, nametags, and training. Volunteers must be able to commit at least
8 hours per month for 6 months. We encourage volunteers to have an up-to-date
tetanus vaccination, although it is not required.
