Thank you for
considering the adoption option! We have many different types of animals
available for adoption who are waiting to find loving homes. We shelter
puppies, dogs, kittens, cats, guinea pigs, bunnies, hamsters, birds, ferrets
... and all of them want to meet you!

*Individuals that live in an apartment, town home, condo, mobile home or rental house need to check with their landlord on breed and size limitations prior to adoption an animal.
Step 1: Gather
the required forms of identification. Must be 18 years of age to adopt a pet from the Peninsula SPCA. All adoptions require a picture ID (driver's license, military ID, or
official state ID).
Step 2: Select
your pet*.
Our staff wants to help you find the pet that is just right for you
and your lifestyle. Since your new pet will be with you for many years,
this is an important commitment that should not be rushed into! Please
visit our shelter to see what pets are currently waiting for a home.
We will discuss your needs and help you determine which type of animal
would be the best match.
Step 3: Adopt your new pet! Our friendly adoption counselors will be waiting to finalize your adoption process.
Next, your new pet will want to meet her new
veterinarian! Veterinarians from the Peninsula
Veterinary Association donate a free exam for every animal adopted
from the Peninsula SPCA. This examination is an excellent chance to
ask specific questions about integrating your new pet with your existing
pets and family members, what type of food to choose, and to get a more
in depth view of your pet's health and age- or breed-related needs.
