On Valentine's Day, the Peninsula SPCA is rolling out the red carpet for Fur Ball 2009. We are pleased to extend a paw to sweethearts and their pet companions for a romantic evening of dining and cocktails, to help raise money for our orphaned animals on the Peninsula.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 in support of our mission to find a loving home for every orphaned pet in our community. The Peninsula SPCA is the only shelter on the Peninsula with an open door policy. We accept over 10,000 animals each year regardless of age, health, temperament, or species.
The Fur Ball will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 6:00 – 11 pm, at Hampton Roads Convention Center, located next to the Hampton Coliseum.

The first annual Fur Ball attracted more than 200 humans and 30 pet guests, and raised over $50,000. Pets flaunted their red bowties during Parade of Pets. They enjoyed treats at the "Muttini" Bar, a beverage bar designed to delight the palettes of the SPCA's furry guests, and were pampered at the Pet Plaza, where community members volunteered to provide one-on-one care and entertainment. This is an experience like no other!
